Which classic popcorn seasoning is yours?
Make it stick, every kernel
Season it hot
Shake seasoning on right after popping, while the popcorn is still steaming. Warm popcorn grabs powder. Cold popcorn lets it fall to the bottom.
Give it something to hold
A light mist of oil or a drizzle of melted butter gives seasoning something to cling to. Air-popped popcorn needs this most.
Shake, then shake again
Season in two rounds. Shake half on, toss the bowl, then add the rest and toss again for an even coat.
Classic popcorn seasoning FAQ
What are the classic popcorn seasoning flavors?
The flavors most people reach for are butter (or buttery popcorn salt), white cheddar, cheddar, ranch and garlic parmesan. Those five make up the Dead Kernelz Society Classics collection.
What seasoning do movie theaters put on popcorn?
Most theaters use a very fine, butter-flavored popcorn salt (Flavacol is the best-known brand) along with a buttery topping. For that movie theater taste at home, shake Butter Popcorn Salt on hot popcorn.
How do I get popcorn seasoning to stick?
Season while the popcorn is hot, add a light mist of oil or melted butter, and toss in two rounds.
What’s the difference between white cheddar and cheddar popcorn seasoning?
White Cheddar is sharper and creamier, with no orange color. Cheddar is the bold, orange, cheese-puff style flavor. Both are Classics; plenty of people keep one of each.
How much popcorn seasoning should I use?
Start with about a teaspoon for a big bowl and add more to taste. It’s easier to add a second shake than to take one back.
Can I use the Classics on more than popcorn?
Yes. They’re popcorn seasonings first, but they also work on fries, roasted potatoes, roasted vegetables, eggs and garlic bread.
